Jane Hackett

Violin

Jane Hackett is an Irish violinist, creative director and inclusive multi genre artist specialising in classical and contemporary music. Her career spans from classical concerts with leading orchestras and ensembles to multi-faceted productions; solo performances have included appearances with the RTE Concert Orchestra, at the Carthage World Music Festival, the National Concert Hall and with chamber ensembles at festivals and venues such as Carnegie Hall, Kilkenny Arts Festival and Musikverein Vienna. She is an active member of the experimental music group, Kirkos Ensemble and was recently co-commissioned alongside them by the PRS Foundation UK to create A Beginner’s Guide to Slow Travel, slow touring at Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, New Music Dublin and Sound Festival Scotland. Jane made her directorial debut with The Body that Breathes-a silent concert experience alongside Dublin Theatre of the Deaf in 2023 and has been awarded Music Network’s Established Musician in Residence ‘24  to develop concert experiences with/for the Deaf community. She is a proud member of the Musici Ireland team for the last six years, performing with them as violinist and acting as Assistant Creative Director for their acclaimed production A Mother’s Voice.

Since being diagnosed with FND (Functional Neurological Disorder) in 2022, Jane’s arts practice has shifted significantly. Her recent appointment of Awareness Ambassador with FND Ireland aims to incorporate more recognition around inclusive music experiences and expand concert productions for those living with chronic conditions.
